The Trossachs (often referred to as 'The Highlands in Minature') is less than an hour from Glasgow and the outskirts of Edinburgh, making it perfect for both day and short visits. The Trossachs National Park includes Ben Lomond and Loch Lomond; the largest expanse of freshwater in Britain. Between Callander and Aberfoyle is the Queen Elizabeth Park managed and maintained by the Forestry Commission. The Trossachs National Park extends right out to Breadalbane where you find Ben Lui, Ben Challum, Ben More and Ben Vorlich and finally the Argyll Forest of the Cowal peninsula, the Arrochar Alps and its sea lochs.
