Good afternoon from South Carolina, USA. I am Marshall Ramsey, husband of May, who is a great granddaughter of John Thomas McFarland, a son of Robert McFarland.
This John Thomas McFarland, according to information handed down from a cousin who once visited the homesite of this McFarland family at a location identified by him as Milton on Buchanan. This house was close to a residence identified as that of the Duke of Montrose.

Also mentioned in this material as closeby were Balmaha and a Presbyterian church when a number of this McFarland family members were buried.

From my uncertain descriptions of the house and area, can you determine if that McFarland family and your MacFarlane family are connected, and also straighten me out on the accurate name of the place where this aforementioned house was located.
