Mains Farm is a family owned Wigwam, Caravan and Camping Park and is located on the outskirts of the historic and picturesque village of Thornhill. It has panoramic view over the Carse of Stirling to the Fintry Hills and lies on the gateway to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park ‐ a world famous area of lochs, glens and hills. An area of breathtaking scenic beauty, it has a wealth of activities on the doorstep for families, walkers, cyclists and holiday makers to enjoy. Take an Eco Friendly, luxury & independent break in Scotland. Mains Farm 6 Lux Wigwams & 15 original Wigwams are all made from sustainable forests. The Wigwam Lux is the ultimate in Eco Camping Cabin. Warm and cosy they are open plan and light and airy with Velux roof lights and opening windows. Each Lux Wigwam sleeps 4 persons in a double and sofa bed, they also come with a mini kitchen, table & chairs and space saving sinks. Also double glazed doors leading to a private deck with great views and camp fires. Mattresses are included but you must supply your own bedding, cups, crockery and cutlery. Wood for campfires sold on site.
Also on site is their famous Sea King Helicopter available for Self Catering breaks, plus, camping pitches for tents and motorhomes with electric hookups. Also , toilet and wash hand basin for campers and showers for Wigwams.
Just arrive, unpack and chill out. Thornhill and nearby Doune both have historic pubs for you to enjoy and chill out in, don’t fancy driving, Thornhill’s original & historic Lion & Unicorn Inn is a pleasant stroll from Mains Farm, or if you love cycling you can take the original Drovers roads to Doune and visit The Red Lion Inn, Doune Castle and the Deanston Distillery. Other nearby attractions are local attractions are Stirling Castle & The Wallace Monument (a tribute to Scotland’s iconic past), Loch Katrine and Blair Drummond Safari Park. Only 15 mins from The Trossachs & Stirling.

Muddy wheels, mucky boots & dirty paws are very welcome.Don’t worry about leaving your 4 legged loved ones behind as we welcome well behaved dogs. Unusually for a farm, Mains Farm are happy to take dogs, but there are a few sensible house rules that must be agreed to in advance.

5 Stars from us! “Stayed with my wife and 2 small dogs, a beautiful place to chill for a few days. we sat for 6 hours on our decking looking across the fields at everything that was happening in a natural way. The wigwam was excellent with an ensuite. the water pressure is very powerful for a campsite so the shower was excellent!..plenty of room inside”.
