The best way to get to Inversnaid Garrison is via Aberfoyle, past Loch Dhu, Loch Ard and Kinlochard, Loch Chon and finally Loch Arklet. Driving through the Great Trossachs Forest amid spectacular scenery you will feel yourself drifting back in time through timeless unspoilt scenery leaving all the pressures of modern life far behind.

“No light pollution here”: Our starry skies make this a perfect location for ‘Star Gazing’ and you can’t help but feel rejuvenated by breathing in our clear unspoiled country air.

Muddy wheels, mucky boots & dirty paws are very welcome. We only ask that pets are not left alone unsupervised and that if you do return with muddy paws & boots you clean them off outside. We have washdown facilities and are happy to store your wet gear and cycles.

Surrounded by wildlife Located on a RSPB Nature Reserves means we get regular visitors such as red or roe deer, red squirrels, and all kinds of birds including buzzards, osprey and… sparrowhawks, Pinemarten have also been spotted in the garden at the bird feeder!

Easy to find: By car from Aberfoyle it takes roughly 35 minutes to reach the T-junction close to Inversnaid Garrison. To get to us turn left and head towards Loch Lomond, we overlook the Glen Arklet Dam, you can’t miss us! If you turn right at the T-junction you will find Stronachlachar and Loch Katrine with the Stronachlachar Tea Room/Bistro which has spectacular views and a wood burning stove.

An area full of history: Inversnaid was a favourite destination for Queen Victoria, William Wordsworth and Sir Walter Scott, all of whom appreciated its wild unspoilt beauty. Long before the modern car tourists would come by horse and carriage. Rob Roy MacGregor and Robert the Bruce also hid out in caves nearby.
