Quietly located on the edge of Stirling, this historic farmhouse is built on land reputed to have been used by Robert the Bruce the day before the Battle of Bannockburn 1314! Today Shielbrae is a large and comfortable 4 bedroomed Victorian farmhouse. Fully modernised it comes complete with 2 living rooms, a large games room, 3 bathrooms and extensive grounds. Warm and cosy it has central heating, an Aga Stove and 3 real fires. Perfect for large groups of friends or for that perfect ‘Family Reunion’ it provides great value all year round.

Just bring yourself and your supplies. Shielbrae comes equipped with everything you could possibly need, it even has an original Aga Stove. Rates are all inclusive including a supply of logs for the 3 open fires and wood burning stoves! Shielbrae also has private parking for up to 6 cars.

Stirling’s best value accommodation for large groups. Shielbrae can easily accommodate up to 20 persons. On the ground floor it has a large double bedroom complete with a wood burning stove, a separate WC and storage for your outdoor gear. There are 2 further family bedrooms on the 1st floor, these 3 bedrooms share 2 bathrooms.

Upstairs in the attic is a large en-suite bedroom for up to 9 persons. The attic bedroom is perfect for large groups of friends, it is also great for family gatherings allowing you to have all the kids in one room out of earshot of the adults!

For Big and Wee Kids there is a large games room and on sunny days there is an outdoor BBQ and loads of outdoor space with great views of The Wallace Monument. Stirling University with the MacRobert Theatre and Olympic sized swimming pool are both nearby and open to the public.

Perfect for those looking for a great base to explore central Scotland. Shielbrae’s peaceful location on the edge of Stirling is perfect for those who want uninterrupted views but still want to be close to Stirling City Centre. Only a few minutes from the Motorway means The Trossachs, Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee are all great day trips. Don’t fancy driving? Stirling has a railway station.

The Ultimate Activity stay for Stags, Hens or those just looking for a fun break. If you are looking for a unique and memorable break we can arrange an all inclusive Activity Break. We work very closely with local Activity providers, popular activities include Archery, Quad Bike Tours, Mini Highland Games, Falconry and Clay Pigeon Shooting, we can even arrange outdoor Sumo wrestling!

Muddy wheels, mucky boots & dirty paws are very welcome. Unusually for a working farm, Shielbrae are happy to take dogs, but there are a few sensible house rules that must be agreed to in advance e.g. pets must not be left alone in the house unsupervised and that if you do return with muddy paws & boots you clean them off outside.
